Three men held at Penitentiary No. 18 on June 17 escaped from the calcareous stone extraction quarry managed by the state-owned company “Branesti”, where they worked, IPN reports.
The men are aged between 25 and 38 and were serving jail terms of 5 to 8 years. According to the preliminary reports of the Department of Penitentiary Institutions, one of the men was seen travelling as a passenger in a vehicle on the Orhei-Chisinau road.
If their blame is proven, these will be additionally sentenced to up to three years in jail for escape.
