Three cases of death by drowning were recorded in Moldova last weekend. Three children older than 10 went to swim unsupervised and lost their lives, IPN reports, quoting the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service.
The first case happened in Copanca village of Causeni district. A boy aged 10 died in unknown circumstances. His body was recovered by a team of the Copanca rescuers post. Another boy of 13 drowned in a pond near Ursoaia village of Causeni district.
The third victim, also a 13-year-old boy, drowned in Purcari, Stefan Voda. The boy’s parents weren’t at home and he went to the local pond to swim without their consent, together with his friends. He went deep into the water and disappeared. The rescuers from Causeni took the body out helped by locals.
The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service repeatedly warns the parents and those looking after children and teens to strictly monitor them and not to allow them to go swimming unsupervised.
