The Government accepted Victor Osipov for the post of Moldova’s Ambassador to Austria. The diplomat held a number of public posts, including that of deputy prime minister for reintegration.

The other two approved candidates are Victor Sorocean, for the office of Moldova’s Ambassador to Belarus and the CIS bodies, and Andrei Neguta, for the office of Moldova’s Ambassador to Russia. Neguta already held the post of ambassador in Moscow and until recently worked in the Office of the President of the Republic of Moldova.

The three candidates are to be confirmed to posts by presidential decree.

In the same meeting, the Government named Victoria Iftodi as judge of the Constitutional Court instead of Alexandru Tanase, whose term in office expired. Iftodi held the post of minister of justice in 2004-2006.
