Three business incubators will start work by the end of this year. A sum of 15 million lei will be allocated from the state budget for the purpose, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said in a meeting of the Economy Ministry’s Board, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The business incubator in Stefan Voda, which was officially launched on April 19, and the one in Leova, which will be opened soon, are projects of the year 2011. “More business incubators should be created as they are efficient instruments for supporting small and medium-sized companies and starting up new businesses, especially in the areas were entrepreneurship is poorly developed,” said Valeriu Lazar.
Iulia Iabanji, director of the Organization for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Companies, said the new business incubators will be opened in Rezina, Sangerei and Dubasari districts. The participants in the meeting recommended making a study about the results achieved by the companies that had been ‘in incubators’ for three years.
In Moldova there are 12 business incubators as well as innovational incubators run by the Academy of Sciences and higher education institutions. There are also 13 information centers and 22 business consultancy centers, 22 business associations, eight business centers, eight contact points, and five training centers for entrepreneurs.
Lilia Palii, the head of the Economy Ministry’s Business Environment Development Division, said that these units were created in different years, within different initiatives and from different sources of financing. The Ministry is finishing a new conception of the business support infrastructure, which will be presented in the near future and proposed for public debates.
