Three bicyclists were crushed to death under the wheels of cars on roads in Causeni and Telenesti last night, Traffic Police Division spokeswoman Dana Andronic has told Info-Prim Neo.
The tragedies happened at an interval of one hour. An unidentified bicyclist was struck by a Ford-Focus driven by a 27-year-old man on a local road in Causeni town.
In an hour, a Mercedes-312D minibus driven by a man aged 50 hit two bicyclists of 21 and 23 on the Balti-Sarateni road. The bicyclists were traveling along the roadway without reflectors. They died on the spot.
An unidentified man who was struck by a Volkswagen-Golf on a street in Ungheni town is now in a coma in the Ungheni district hospital.
A 10-year-old boy was admitted to the Sangerei hospital with a cranial-cerebral trauma, concussion and a facial wound after he was hit by a VAZ-2104 while crossing the street illegally.
The nine accidents that occurred on the national roads yesterday and last night resulted in three deaths and seven persons injured.
