Three antitank mines dating from World War II were detected on the bank of the Prut River, the Border Police has said. Employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and of the Ungheni Police Inspectorate were called out, IPN reports.
“The Sculeni Border Police Sector was informed that three mines were discovered on the bank of the Prut. A patrol was on the scene immediately and confirmed the presence of three antitank mines dating from World War II,” runs a press release.
Until a bomb squad arrives at the scene, border guards will be watching over the explosive devices.
