Those who fielded the former deputy governor of the National Bank Veronica Bacalu for the post of President were to make sure that she will be in Moldova, deputy chairman of the Liberal Party (PL) Valeriu Munteanu said Monday in response to the Liberal-Democratic leader Vlad Filat’s statement that the PLDM will put forward no other candidates. “Where is now Missis Veronica Bacalu? We have put this rhetoric question for about two weeks,” Valeriu Munteanu told the press, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Speaking about Vlad Filat’s statements, the deputy chairman of the PL said such discussions should be held within the Alliance for European Integration. “There is enough place for maneuver and discussions. I think it’s not worth commenting on the assertions of the leader of a party that forms part of the alliance,” said Valeriu Munteanu. In a TV program, the leader of the PLDM Vlad Filat said his party will no longer take part in the process of fielding candidates for the presidency. A clear answer as regards candidate Veronica Bacalu is to be given this week and a decision on the date of the presidential elections is to be taken.
