Those who are dissatisfied will be excluded from the party, the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu said, commenting on a group of members’ request to reform the party. Invited to the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, Ghimpu stated that those who held a news conference on April 12 are Bolsheviks who schemed against him. He added that Petru Lucinschi and Ion Hadarca are the main persons to blame for the evil things happening in Moldova, IPN reports.

The Liberal leader also said he never believed that the members of the Liberal parliamentary group will give a news conference to speak about the reformation of the Liberal Party without consulting the PL’s National Council. “I think it was the Friday of fools and traitors. How can they speak in the name of the PL when they joined us only when we offered them seats in Parliament? They didn’t take part in the creation of the PL. They are opportunists. The fact that they proposed Dorin Chirtoaca shows that they are ashamed of their imprudence. We had the faction’s meeting two times and they said nothing. I knew on Thursday what will happen the next day as some of the people put their signatures, but then realized what they did and came to me,” stated Mihai Ghimpu.

According to him, those who pose as the reforming members of the party act so because the PL does not support the candidacy of Vlad Filat for premiership. “Vlad Filat will not be Premier. Thank God. Otherwise, the European integration idea will die and we will lose the elections. The people will never vote for a corrupt person. I’m convinced,” said the leader of the PL.

The Council for Reforming the Liberal Party demanded that the party should return to the negotiating table and should convene the PL’s Extraordinary Congress in order to promote Dorin Chirtoaca to the party’s leadership. The statement signed by 28 MPs, ministers, deputy ministers and members of the local organizations of the PL was made public in a news conference on April 12.
