The most active NGOs, projects worth being followed and partners will come together for a civil dialogue to exchange good practices and innovatory ideas at the third International Festival “Civic Fest: Moldova for the People” that will take place on September 24-26, IPN reports.

“Our goal is to support the involvement of civil society actors in dealing with social problems. “Civic Fest” is important also for stimulating an open dialogue between the public authorities, businesses and nongovernmental organizations,” said Sorin Mereacre, president of the East Europe Foundation, which is the event’s partner.

For the first time this year, “Civic Fest” will be also staged at local level, in Butuceni commune of Orheiul Vechi cultural reserve. “We chose this settlement because it is a visiting card of our country. The people need to be encouraged to take a more active part in community development. We will launch a number of civic initiatives aimed at protecting the environment, conserving the natural and historical heritage and promoting ecologist culture,” said Tudor Stefan, head of the public association Synergetica Eur/Est and main organizer of the event.

The festival will take place at the National Museum of Arts in Chisinau on September 24, between 9am and 6pm, and at the Open Air Theater in Butuceni on September 26, between 11am and 6pm. Entrance is free of charge, while the registration can be confirmed by September 21 through the email address office@civicfest.md or on 022 24 02 74 and 069 783606.

The event forms part of the Civil Society Days that are organized in partnership with FHI 360/Moldova Partnerships for Sustainable Civil Society.
