Thief posing as taxi driver

A 24-year-old man faces up to 10 years in jail for theft. Posing as a taxi driver, he offered his services to a woman whom he robbed before reaching the destination, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office. The man drove the car into a park in Chisinau’s Rascani district and threatening the woman with use of violence, he took gold jewels and other property worth over 16,000 lei from her. According to the prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office of Ciocana district, the culprit is liable to 6 to 10 years’ imprisonment. The Prosecutor’s Office warns the population to be careful when using taxi services.
