Thief in law from Moldova arrested in Russia

The leader of a criminal group alias “Turoc” was arrested in Moscow on April 22. According to the General Police Inspectorate, the criminal organization had worked since 2013 and consisted of criminal groups that specialized in blackmail, thefts, burglaries and trafficking in drugs.

The materials of the case that is handled by the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases and the National Investigation Inspectorate show the man is from Leușeni village of Telenești district. He is 39 and has lived in Moscow for many years, IPN reports.

The warrant for the man’s arrest was issued at the request of the Moldovan authorities. The procedures for extraditing him are to be initiated. According to the General Police Inspectorate, the thief in law was earlier convicted in Russia for keeping drugs.
