The first component of the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 Sputnik-V can be administered before the arrival of the second component as the interval between the administration of the first dose and the second dose is of at least three weeks. There is yet a verbal confirmation from Russia that the second component of the vaccine will be delivered, secretary of state at the Ministry of Health Igor Curov told a news conference, being quoted by IPN.

The functionary said the medical personnel are taught how to administer this vaccine that is kept at temperatures of -20 degrees Celsius. It goes to 71,000 doses of Sputnik-V vaccine donated by the Russian Federation. The other part of the donation is expected to be delivered in May.

Igor Curov noted that the lot of Chinese vaccine that was shipped this morning will be distributed immediately. Asked by journalists how much the Chinese vaccine cost, the functionary said that he cannot say as there was signed a memorandum of confidentiality and the given information cannot be made public.

As many as 150,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccines donated by the People’s Republic of China and 100,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine purchased by the Republic of Moldova were delivered to Chisinau in the morning of April 27. A lot of medical equipment donated by the Chinese side was also shipped to Moldova.
