In Moldova there are several businesses that hold interest and that are wanted by the most powerful businessmen, considers former Prime Minister Ion Sturza. He compared these businesses with molecules that are now being divided, IPN reports.
In the program “In Depth” on Pro TV channel, the ex-Premier referred to the situation created at Banca de Economii (BEM), which is close to bankruptcy. “I warn the one who is behind the situation at the BEM that he will remain both without money and without honor. There are yet several molecules left, which are now being divided. This is very dangerous in an electoral year,” stated Ion Sturza.
According to him, nobody can convince him that the state has money to invest in the BEM. “The bank can be privatized and it should be privatized, but by law. I think it is rather a diversion against the new government and against Moldova,” he stated.
Ion Sturza also said that Moldova lives based on the export of labor force. “A sustainable economic system should be created to stop the exodus. The real sector of the economy must be developed based on investments,” he stated.
The former Premier considers that the population is not satisfied with the current government. “The last polls show that the current coalition will get less than 20% of the poll. The Communist opposition now has between 50 and 60%. It is a disaster. Measures should be immediately taken to change the perception and to exclude from our vocabulary such words as reform and optimization as they are associated with people who discredited themselves,” said Ion Sturza, adding that not even a liberalized visa regime with the EU will significantly change the situation.
Ion Sturza considers that Moldova needs a true leader who will come before the people with messages in which he will believe himself and who will keep his electoral promises.
