Theater world at Ion Creanga library

The National Library “Ion Creanga” organized the cultural event “Young, Talented and Creative” at which four girls that love the theatrical art tried to transmit their passion to groups of children from a number of Chisinau schools. The event was held in memory of the well-known actor and director Valeriu Cupcea, Info-Prim Neo reports. The young actors spoke about their career and performed plays showing their talent and skillfulness in playing the parts of different characters. “We want and can be positive models for the children of our age. Our road goes trough everything that means arts and it would be nice if we manage to transmit our love for theater,” said Olga Baltag, from the lyceum of fine arts “Elena Alistar” in Chisinau. According to Lia Gherman, student of the school of theater “Valeriu Poleacov”, the mission of the young actors is to familiarize their fellows with the fascinating world of the theater. “We have the task of taking this world to our fellows many of which I’m sure are talented,” Lia Gherman said Actresses of Mihai Eminescu Theater Viorica Chirca, the partner of the late actor and director Valeriu Cupcea, also paid homage to him. “Besides the absolutely remarkable personality of this actor, there is one more detail that is not known: he passed away with a volume of poetry by Mihai Eminescu, achieving Grigore Vieru’s wish from Legamant poem,” she said. Valeriu Cupcea was the first director of the Moldovan Dramatic Theater "A.S. Pushkin" in Chisinau during 1963-1977 and 1981-1985. He staged over 50 plays and played in the movies "Alone in Front of Love", "Fiddlers", "Dimitrie Cantemir". He also played the part of Eminescu in the production with the same name by M. Stefanescu’s play.
