[-How will things develop in Moldova according to the Western scenario?]
- The West expressed its position in a number of statements. The European officials welcome the end of elections, but point to the hostile climate during the electoral campaign created mainly by the Communists Party, and call on the political players to avoid revanchist attitudes. The partners from the West want that a functional government is installed as soon as possible and that the head of state is elected by a coalition formed of several parties.
They have respect for the vote of the Moldovan people and will accept any government, with or without the PCRM. The important thing is to have a predictable situation and a credible government so as to cope with the economic crisis and avoid a political crisis. Without doubt, the West does not want risks or suspicions of usurpation of the state power by a person or a group of persons.
[- However, the West is careful in taking attitude. Why?]
- This time, the EU and the West in general show a better preparedness than in April. Their attitudes are expressed in documents.
The West is not yet a Messiah and can make mistakes. For example, the April reactions were below the expectations of the Moldovan society. Yet, no matter what decision the Moldovan politicians take, it is important to ensure the durability of this political solution. On the other hand, the political parties should be more efficient than in April in their communication with the foreign partners, and use the multiple channels they have at their disposal.
[- Who or what can solve the political crisis in the country?]
Any coalition, broad or bilateral, can avoid a long-term political crisis and stabilize the situation in the country. But the formula for stability in the last eight years did not produce good results. So, the new Moldovan MPs have the possibility of showing the quality of the change of the political class by actions and results, if the change took place or not.
