The residents of two villages in Anenii Noi district benefit from U.S. financial assistance projects

More than 600 residents of the Cobusca Veche village in Anenii Noi district benefited today from free medical assistance provided by the specialists of the U.S. Army. According to the Defence Ministry, the villagers had the chance to find out their predisposition to high-risk diseases such as diabetes or hypertension. In addition, the American specialists showed both children and parents how to practice good dental hygiene. Also today, in the presence of U.S. Ambassador Michael D. Kirby, an agreement was signed to renovate the kindergarten in the village of Floresti. The cost of the project is estimated at 93,400 dollars. An additional project envisages renovating the artesian well in Cobusca Veche, by replacing the old water tower and repairing the pumps and the automatic control system. The expenses of the U.S. government for this project are estimated at 33,000 dollars. The US-funded humanitarian aid projects are being carried out in recognition of the Moldovan people’s hospitality and commitments to the objectives of the Partnership for Peace Program.
