The e-Government Center has launched the process of consultations with civil society to implement the Action Plan for an Open Government. The document envisages a series of commitments which the Government has undertaken in ensuring transparency and fighting corruption. The Action Plan will be presented at the global forum of the Open Government Partnership, which is to be held in April in Brazil. “Open Government Partnership” is a global alliance of governments supporting and applying the principles of human rights and those of the countries of the United Nations Convention against corruption, proposing and developing concrete measures to promote transparency in governance and implementation of technological innovations for the benefit of citizens. Signatory states share a set of common values: they plead that citizens benefit from a more open and transparent governance, recognize and support the efforts of countries at different stages of promoting government transparency, fight corruption and believe in the power of citizens and of information technology. 38 executives have made a commitment to join the “Open Government Partnership”. Republic of Moldova is among them and it will officially join the initiative at the forum in Brazil. The consultations with civil society are an important element in developing the action plan. NGOs can come up with ideas and comments about the government's actions regarding transparency, access to information, services and management of public resources. The NGOs which are interested to participate in the consultations are encouraged to contact the e-Governance Center.
