The share of 14,000 tones of sugar, accepted on Romanian market this year without customs clearances, will be distributed only among the processing enterprises, depending on the production volume of last year, the Minister of Economics and Commerce, Valeriu Lazar, announced about this on Wednesday, 1 March.
According to him, previously this share was distributed via the order of the Ministry of Economics and Commerce, but it was considered more rational that these shares to be set by the government.
Valeriu Lazar said that in Moldova the main sugar producers are Sudzucker Moldova and Marr Sugar Moldova and, in fact, only these two companies will benefit from these facilities. In 2005, these enterprises produced 120,000 tones of sugar according to minister.
According to agreements between Bucharest and Chisinau, this share will be delivered until 31 September 2006, quarterly, according to set limits.
