The organization of the Chisinau Days in Targoviste might be compromised if the Chisinau Municipal Council will decide against performing this event, say several representatives of Chisinau municipality mayoralty.
The head of the International Department Relations, Ion Căpăţînă, declared Tuesday, the 27th of June, during a press conference, that the issue of the Chisinau days in Targoviste will be examined by the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), because Chisinau will cover some expenses for the organization of this event. The quoted source mentioned previously that due to the unfavorable vote of the CMC the Chisinau Days in Ankara, Turkey, were not organized.
According to Capatina, the organization of the Chisinau days in Targoviste is a good chance for signing several collaboration contracts for a brotherhood agreement, that doesn’t exist despite the good relationships between the two cities.
The head of the Culture Department, Iulian Filip, declared during the same press conference that even if Chisinau Days in Targoviste are planned for the 19th – 23rd October this year, the mayoralty should present now the project regarding the organization of this event to the CMC.
The interim mayor of Chisinau, Vasile Ursu, present at the conference, mentioned the fact that organizing such an event is a first-time experience. Ursu underlined the fact that business people from the wine production branch will be especially invited to this event, as well as carpet and sweets producers.
Chisinau will cover only participant’s transportation expenses and honoraries for the artistic groups, expenses that will not exceed 200 thousand lei, thinks the mayor. The local authorities from Targoviste will cover accommodation expenses, including 3 meals per day, equipment, exhibition halls, labor hands and internal transportation.
Chişinău Days in Targoviste are planned for the 19th – 23rd of October this year and Chisinau being represented by 150-200 persons, including the official delegation, artistic groups, business people and mass-media representatives.
The date for organizing Targoviste Days in Chisinau is not yet set.
Previously, on the 8th of June, CMC, with the votes of the communist members, rejected a project regarding the participation of local Chisinau authorities at the Week of the Economy of the Republic of Moldova in Romania. The communist members from the council motivated their votes with the lack of financial resources.
