The 2007-2008 concert season of the Organ Hall will be opened on Thursday, September 27, with the Concert for organ, percussion and orchestra by French composer Francis Poulenc and with the baroque piece “Lumiere” by French composer and jazzman Jacques Loussier. The Concert by Francis Poulenc is one of most welcomed pieces in the repertoire and can only be listened in the Organ Hall, with Ana Strezeva playing the organ. The baroque piece “Lumiere” is written for a soprano, contralto, choir and orchestra and is a premiere in Chisinau. The piece will be performed by the National Chamber Orchestra, the Chamber Choir, soprano Galina Vlad and contralto Mihaela Isan, the opera soloist in Bucharest. The piece will be directed by Cristian Florea. The traditions of the baroque style in the piece “Lumiere” are featured by a modern language of jazz percussion, rhythm and melodies, accompanied by classic harmonies.
