The rate of small business trade enterprises decreased from 70% to 44%, fact that shows the growth of producing enterprises, declared the head of the Department of small and medium business development of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Iulia Iabanji, at a round table organized on the occasion of the „Small Business – 2006” exhibition, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
„Another positive aspect regarding the small and medium business is the fact that yearly in Moldova 2000 small enterprises appear, but these need the support of the state” states the quoted source.
According to Iulia Iabanji, the small and medium enterprises deal with a big number of problems, inclusively high rates of the loan interests, the limited access to long-term credits, the complicated procedure of obtaining them, asking for excessive guarantees and the lack of securities. In this context, the representative of MEC said the Government will perform many actions that will ease the access of the small and medium enterprises to financing, by creating crediting offices, encouraging new financing products, developing the guarantees system and continuing the regulatory reforms. This year, the state allocated 1 million lei for guaranteeing the credits for the economic agents.
Of all the small and medium enterprises the commercial enterprises constitute 44%, the ones that activate in the process industry area -13%, real estate transactions – 12%, transport and communications – 7%, constructions – 6%, agriculture - 5% and other activities - 13%. Of them 66% activate within the limits of the Chisinau municipality, 4% - in Balti, 3% - in UTA Gagauzia, the rest – in other districts of the country.
The small business sector in Moldova is ensured by 29 400 enterprises that constitute nearly 92% of the total number of enterprises.
