The Moldovan-Romanian Civil Society Forum brought together in Chisinau 70 participants from both sides of the Prut River

Two days of discussions, 70 participants from the Republic of Moldova and Romania, and a signed memorandum. This is the outcome of the forum of the Moldovan-Romanian civil society community for development, an event organized by the Constantin Mimi Foundation in Chisinau on 3-4 September. 

The Secretary General of the Iasi County Council and the Head of the Territorial Office of the State Chancellery participated in the opening ceremony. As speakers at the event were the vice-president of the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova, directors of Local Action Groups and representatives of local public authorities and international organizations.

The Moldovan-Romanian Forum aimed to strengthen the participation of civil society in the social processes taking place in society, to promote and strengthen the sustainability of civil society organizations, as well as to develop active civic spirit and volunteerism. 

At the end of the two days of discussions, exchange of experiences and good social practices, the participants signed the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Romanian Civil Society Organizations, Local Public Authorities and economic agents from the Republic of Moldova.
