The mayoralty could order to enlarge the streets perpendicular to street Stefan cel Mare si Sfant in order to place the parking

The interim mayor of the municipality Chisinau, Vasile Ursu, required on Monday, 6 March, at the operative meeting of the mayoralty of the municipality Chisinau, to persons responsible within the mayoralty to examine the possibility to enlarge the pavement of the streets perpendicular to street Stefan cel Mare si Sfant, where possibly the parking would be placed. This fact is imposed, according to mayor, as result of the fact that in the centre of the municipality Chisinau it s difficult to set parking, because of lack of free spaces. In the same time, he required that in maximum 10 days, the persons responsible of the mayoralty to set ways of payment and the tax for parking. The head of transport and communications department of municipal council, Veaceslav Tarina, said within the same meeting that it was drafted already, jointly with the Urban and architecture department, the project of placing the parking in municipality Chisinau. It has to mentioned that on 27 February, Ursu declared „war” to unauthorised parking in municipality Chisinau, being intrigued by the situation created related to illegal parking of private transport on pavements, especially in the centre of the city, fact qualified as inappropriate in conditions when the pavements is destroyed and creates difficulties in pedestrians circulation. The actions of local authorities regarding the parking are motivated by the fact that the government shall approve very soon the regulation on parking activity.
