The Liberal Party (LP) considers insufficient the efforts of the present government in operating internal reforms, still salutes certain dispositions in the external affairs field. Dorin Chirtoaca, vice-president of (LP), declared on Monday at a press-conference that as a result of a 1 one year activity of the communist governance the buying capacity of the population decreased. Rising salaries and life annuities didn’t improve life because of the simultaneous raise of prices. Mr Chirtoaca worries about certain manifestations incompatible with the European orientation and about USSR nostalgia as well, cultivated by the governance. Mr Chirtoaca also fears government’s ignorance towards the PACE recommendations about blaming crimes of totalitarian communist regime, worries the lack of political will about leaving CIS, keeping a visa regime for the EU and USA citizens, supporting Stalinist theories through imposing the integrated history course, offering administrative key-posts on political criteria, oppressing the sympathizers of the opposition. Mr Chiroaca, an ex-candidate for the position of mayor, claimed that “local autonomy is in a deep decline, and fighting corruption doesn’t deal with the high-ranking corruption from the governance” In the context of external affairs, vice-president of LP mentioned that the partnership with EU and USA represents an outcome of the Moldovan population aspirations for freedom and the collaboration on regional scale with Ukraine contributes to the consolidation of country’s independence and to the solving of the Transdniestrian conflict. At the same time, Chirtoaca considers important, especially through the perspective of European integration objectives of Moldova, that the relations with Romania have positive dynamics. This could lead to a natural approaching of the two states. He commented the implementation of the EU-RM plan of actions as being “superficial and declarative, because EU found many debts in the majority of chapters.” LP pleads for the fusion of the Moldavian, Ukrainian and Georgian efforts to riposte the blackmail of the Russian Federation regarding the wine issue, boundary regime and natural gases. The permanent bureau of the LP formulated a declaration about the economical, social and political situation in the country and elaborated certain requirements for the present governance in order to improve. 1 year was marked on the 6th of March since the last parliamentary elections, and on the 4th of April 1 year will pass since the Legislative elected Vladimir Voronin, president of the Communist Party, as president of the Republic of Moldova.
