The House of the Ukrainian Community to be inaugurated in Balti municipality

The Ukrainian cultural association of the Republic of Moldova “Zapovit” opens the House of the Ukrainian Community.
The president of “Zapovit”, Mihail Crijanovschi, declared for Info-Prim Neo that this house, the first one in Moldova, will be a true Cultural Center of the Ukrainians who live in Moldova for hundreds of years. At the center will be opened computer rooms for Ukrainian children, the admittance candidates for Ukrainian Universities will be instructed, the history, culture and Ukrainian language will be promoted. Crijanovschi states that the necessity of opening such a cultural center in Balti was generated by the fact that the majority of Ukrainians live in the Northern part of the country.
According to the quoted source, about 30 sponsors contributed to building and opening the House of the Ukrainian Community, but the greatest support was offered by the head of the Shevecenko district administration of Kiev. At the same time, the Mayor of the Blati municipality offered moral support.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the Mayor of Balti, Vasili Panciuc, declared that because of the lack of financial resources the local administration supported only morally the initiative of opening a Ukrainian cultural center in Balti, helping “Zapovit” to purchase an edifice. The Mayor communicated that in Balti municipality Polish, Jewish, Byelorussian, Russian cultural centers and another 11 ethnic unions rent buildings in the locality.
At the inauguration ceremony of the Cultural Center in Balti will also be opened the art exhibition of the Ukrainian artists from Moldova. The president of the charity Foundation of the professional artists “Renastere-Vidrojdenni”, Evegheni Oseredciuc declared for Info-Prim Neo that at the exhibition will be presented the works of Mihailo Statnii, Vadim Plamarciuc, Veaceslav Vachitchi, Leonid Nichitin and others.
The Ukrainian community from Moldova has over 600 thousand representatives and 11 territorial organizations. 55 schools that study the Ukrainian language and culture and 63 artistic communities are working in the Country. Of the total of 101 MPs, 11 deputies are Ukrainians.
