The government approved the initiation and signing of the Financing Agreement with the European Investment Bank for the contracting of a 25 million euro loan for the implementation of the project "Solid Waste in Moldova", IPN reports.
The project has a budget of 200 million euros and will be funded by several external donors. The European Investment Bank has committed to contribute 100 million euros. The negotiated amount of 25 million euros is the first tranche of the expected loan.
Overall, the project will allow the modernization and development of regional solid waste management systems and disposal facilities in the Republic of Moldova.
