The Central Election Commission will publish an informative brochure

The materials, reports and proposals presented at the international conference “Electoral Systems and Procedures. International Experience” will be studied and processed in order to publish an informative brochure for the political parties, the Central Election Commission (CEC) and all the interested persons. On 11-12 May, CEC organized in Chisinau the international conference were have been invited representatives of the central electoral bodies from Latvia, Romania and Ukraine, international experts from Venetia Commission and OSCE. The CEC secretary, Iurie Ciocan, communicated to Info-Prim Neo that at the conference were presented a series of interesting and attractive proposals to be implemented in the Republic of Moldova. CEC will examine and systemize them and the ones that will fit the necessities of the Republic of Moldova will be supported by the political class and than implemented, mentioned the CEC official. According to the quoted source, the goal of this conference is to learn about the international experience in the field. The event was organized within the actions undertaken by CEC as a result of a poor participation of the electorate from the Chisinau municipality, during 2005, at the elections of the General Mayor.
