The average salary of an employee in March constituted 1533, 6 lei, being higher by 27% compared to the same month in 2005 and by 7% comparing to the previous month. In the budgetary area the average salary amounted to 1275, 8 lei, in the private 1674, 2 According to the dates of the National Bureau of Statistics, in March, the smallest salary was received by the agriculture employees, constituting an average 710 lei, by 15% higher compared to the same period of the last year, and the biggest was given to the employees from the financier area – 3864 lei (+25%). The average salary in transports and communications – 2356 lei, increased by 28% compared to March 2005, in constructions – 1999 lei (+23%), retailers selling – 1328 lei (+24%), in the area of estate transactions – 1818 lei (+14%) and in education – 1171 lei (+38%). In the first three months of 2006, the average monthly salary of an employee of the national economy constituted 1454, 3 lei and increased compared to the similar period of the last year by 27%. In the budgetary area the average salary constituted 1223, 6 lei, in the private area – 1584, 2 lei.
