The Academy of Science nominated the winners of the national contest of supporting science and innovation “Econom-2006”

The Supreme Council for Science and technological Development of the Academy of Science of Moldova nominated on Friday, December 22, by secret vote, the winners of the national contest of supporting science and innovation in the R. Moldova “Econom 2006” at its third edition. The scientist of the year in the field of humanitarian sciences was named Professor Gheorghe Avornic, doctor in law, president of the jurists union in Moldova, dean of the law faculty of the Moldova state university. The scientist of the year in the field of exact sciences was nominated Professor Ilie Donica, doctor in agricultural sciences, honorable member of the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences in Romania, deputy head of the fruit growing institute. The winners of the two nominations will benefit from prizes totaling 25 thousand lei. The title of innovator of the year and a 20 thousand lei prize went to Professor Valeriu Dulgheru, doctor in car feasibility, corresponding member of the Romanian-American Academy of Science and Art, laureate of the State Prize of the RM, chair of the “Theory of the mechanism and organs of cars” department of the Technical University of Moldova. At the young innovator of the year, with a 15 thousand lei prize, the winner was Daniela Ciumac, scientific researcher of the “Photo-microbiology” laboratory within the Faculty of Biology and Pedagogy of the State University of Moldova. The awarding festivity will take place on December 28.
