A meeting in the 5 + 2 format is due to take place on October 8-10, and the agenda envisages important discussions, meant to prod the settlement process of the Transnistrian dispute. That was stated by President Igor Dodon, who had a meeting today with Slovakian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova Dušan Dacho, reports IPN.
"Given the fact that Slovakia holds the current OSCE presidency, I was informed that the meeting in the 5 + 2 format has been planned on October 8-10," the head of state said.
Igor Dodon expressed hope that, prior to this reunion, he would meet with Tiraspol administration leader, Vadim Krasnoselski, which, in his opinion, would be a good signal in this regard.
The "5 + 2" format includes the representatives of the parties - the Republic of Moldova and the Transnistrian region, the mediators - the OSCE, the Russian Federation, the Ukraine and the observers - the EU and the USA.
The last round of negotiations in the 5 + 2 format took place on May 29-30, 2018.
