The testing of national graduation exams candidates set for March 30 – April 11 was postponed and the new date will be announced later. An order to this effect was signed by Minister of Education, Culture and Research Igor Sharov, IPN reports.
The decision was taken on the Commission for Exceptional Situations’ recommendation in a move to ensure the security and protect the life and health of children and student amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The National Olympiads in the disciplines of study were suspended until May 18.
In a press release issued earlier today, the children’s ombudswoman says it is opportune working out the graduation exam papers for ninth and twelfth graders based only on the lessons taught until March 2. Maia Bănărescu said distance learning is a pilot procedure for the national education system and its efficiency is to be determined in terms of satisfaction of the educational needs and requirements in the field of children’s rights protection. She also considers inopportune testing the candidates of the national graduation exams of the 2020 session as long as this is done at a distance.
