Termoelectrica will modernize three pumping stations and 29 heat pipe sections with a total length of about 10 km and will extensively repair the thermal insulation of underground pipes on a length of about 5.5 km. The works are stipulated in the investment plan for 2021 that was approved by the National Agency for Energy Regulation. This envisions modernization works to the value of about 305 million lei, with a direct impact on the quality of heating services, safety and performance of infrastructure, IPN reports.
In a press release, Termoelectrica says they will also purchase and set up a new degassing system for energy bloc No. 3, will reconstruct a number of hydraulic schemes by building a common sewer and will install photovoltaic panels for the building situated at 6 T. In an online working meeting, Termoelectrica director general Veaceslav Eni said the investments made this year are primarily aimed at reducing technological losses and at improving the quality of the provided heating services. This will enable to significantly improve the main quality and efficiency indicators.
Termoelectrica, together with the Consolidated Unit for the Implementation and Monitoring of Projects in the Field of Energy, initiated the first activities to build new sources of generation by applying the newest electricity and heat production technologies. The works form part of the second Improving the Efficiency of the Centralized Heat Supply System Project that took effect this spring.
