Chisinau’s leading producer of electricity and heat & hot water utility Termoelectrica plans to invest about 500 million lei ($28M) this summer to improve generation facilities and modernize supply networks, the company announced in a press release.
The investment plan involves modernization of over 50 segments of piping totaling 18 kilometers in length, replacement of automation equipment at four pumping stations and of electrical equipment at three pumping stations, and replacement of thermal insulation for 5 kilometers of aboveground pipes.
Additionally, it is planned to rehabilitate production facilities, including power generation unit no.1, and upgrade equipment at them.
All these efforts, says the company, will make production more effective and supply more stable, and more importantly, will increase electricity output to reduce the country’s dependence on imports.
