The Chisinau heat supplier SA Termocom suggests the municipality to jointly identify an independent mediator to help them to find a solution as to the tariff policy and would not affect the consumers’ interests and would insure en efficient activity of the company, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from a letter submitted by the Termocom administration to the local administration. The heating company consider the best candidates for this role would be the representatives of the International Monetary Fund or of the World Bank to Moldova. Termocom’s request comes on the background “of the company’s dissatisfaction with the tariff policy promoted by the Chisinau City Hall and the Municipal Council.” “Continuing this situation does not favor solving the problems which generated this conflict and certainly it is not to the sides’ interest and of to the consumers’ interests. The conflict situation could have extremely serious social, economic and technical consequences,” reads the letter. Earlier, experts from the project Energetic II, supported by the World Bank, showed their availability to perform a technical and financial auditing at the heat supplier Termocom. Then, the general mayor Dorin Chirtoaca announced soon a contest may be held to select an expert to carry out a research on the situation in the energy area, in general, and on the population’s ability to buy these power resources.
