Termocom intends to petition relevant authorities to check the financial activity of the housing associations in Chisinau that have troubles paying their bills on time, the utility said in a press release.
An example of such an association is CCL no. 185, which includes 139 apartments and each of these apartments owes over 11 thousand lei in overdue bills for heat and hot water. Another example is CCL no.138m, where each apartment owes about 8,100 lei.
Because these associations calculate bills by themselves, and not using the services of the specialized enterprise Infocom, “the registered debts raise suspicions as to the accuracy of the financial records and the handling of the flow of payments for the consumed heat from the apartment owners (to the utility)”, says the press release.
Currently, 46 housing associations that handle bill calculation operations by themselves have payment rates ranging from 5% to 54% and a total debt of 14.75 million lei. The utility warns that the 4,345 apartments serviced by these associations will be cut off from heat supply unless a collective decision to settle the debt is adopted within a month.
