The heating season in Chisinau will open when the payments for the heat consumed the previous season reach at least 90%, SA Termocom director Mihail Cernei announced. “Until now, we collected 82% of the payments, but will start the heating season when they reach at least 90%,” Mihail Cernei said in Monday’s meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials. He also said that the economic entities and the population owe 277 million lei to the heat supplier. For its part, SA Termocom has debts of 66.5 million lei to its suppliers – the thermoelectric plants CET and CET 2. “SA Termocom cleared the largest part of its historical debts. This is a positive thing showing that the company can be efficient,” said deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu. Last year, the heating season in kindergartens, schools and hospitals started on October 7, while in apartment buildings on October 8. The heating season usually opens when the average temperature during three consecutive days is minimum 8°C. According to the State Hydrometeorology Service, there will be rain the coming days. Daytime temperatures will vary between 9 and 10°C. After the middle of the week, they will rise to 19°C.
