A girl aged ten drowned in a hole with water in Corlăteni village of Râşcani district. She was together with two boys aged five and nine who didn’t tell the girl’s mother about what happened when they returned home.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, frogmen found the body at a depth of about three meters earlier this morning.
Râșcan Police Inspectorate press officer Ina Moscaliuc has told IPN that the girl and the other two minors are from the municipality of Bălți. The children went to the quarry in Corlăteni, where there is a hole with water that formed naturally. This is about ten meters in depth.
The boys who accompanied the girl didn’t inform the adults about the tragedy. The girl’s mother tried to find out where her daughter was from the children and then altered the police.
The General Inspectorate for Emergencies said 54 persons, five of whom were minors, have drowned in national rivers and lakes so far this year.
