Ten new trolleybuses assembled at the workshop of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company started to run on routes. The AKSM trolleybuses were produced in Belarus, IPN reports.
The company’s director Dorin Chernyi said the new trolleybuses will replace older vehicles and will run on routes No. 3, 8, 12, 21, 22 and 24. Another ten new trolleybuses are being assembled and will begin to be used in the near future. The cost of a trolleybus assembled in Chisinau is €165,000.
Mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban said the ten new trolleybuses have access ramps intended for persons with disabilities, USB sockets and air conditioning systems. A number of 240 units of transport were delivered to the capital city in 2021 and these run in Chisinau and its suburbs.
As many as 330 trolleybuses run on routes in Chisinau daily.
