The National Library of Moldova has compiled the rankings of the ten most read books of Moldovan writers in 2013, based on readers’ opinions. The questionnaire included 193 books printed in the period between January 1 and December 31, 2013, IPN reports.
Thus, the most read ten books are: 1. “Don’t fall in love in spring” by Nicolae Dabija; 2. “Prose of the XX-XXI centuries” by Leo Butnaru; 3. “The pugnacious. Lost among foreigners” by Mihail Gh. Cibotaru; 4. “Scherzo for the King of France” by Alexe Rau; 5. “Mixture of times” by Iulian Filip; 6. “Kinderland” by Liliana Corobca; 7. “Cultural universe in Moldova (XV-XIX centuries)” by Andrei Esanu; 8. “Stalinist terror in Bessarabia” by Anatol Petrencu; 9. “3ml of Konfidor” by Ion Buzu; 10. “Soli i Sablia” (“Salt and Sword”) by Mihail Lupashko.
42.9% of the respondents of the poll are from Chisinau, while the others are from other settlements of the country. 66.2% are women, while 33.8% are men. 37.6% of those surveyed are school or university students.
