Eighty public servants have vacated their sears for the period of the election campaign of the 90 who were to do it because they are running in the November 30 legislative elections. Press officer of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Rodica Sarbu has told IPN that Deputy Prime Ministers Andrian Candu and Natalia Gherman are among the ten public servants who haven’t yet left their posts.

The posts were vacated by three of the seven functionaries of the Liberal Reformist Party involved in the election campaign, by five of the seven functionaries of the Liberal Party, by 25 of the 26 functionaries of the Democratic Party, and by 28 of the 29 functionaries of the Liberal Democratic Party.

The civil servants who haven’t suspended work until October 15 will be warned by the CEC to leave their posts. Otherwise, the Commission can ask the court to strike the given persons off the lists of candidates for seats of MP.
