A boy aged only ten months was admitted to the intensive care section of the Drochia District Hospital after this was hit by his father. It happened in Gribova village in the evening of February 22.
The Hospital’s director Galina Maximchuk has told IPN that the child suffered a concussion. His state of health is now satisfactory, but the boy is to be examined by specialists of the Mother and Child Institute. It will be later decided whether to transfer this to Chisinau for treatment or not.
Contacted by IPN, Olga Chistol, press officer of the Drochia District Hospital, said the child’s parents had a quarrel and, as a result, the man hit his partner and then the child. The mother and child were later taken to the hospital.
The man, who has a criminal record, was arrested for 72 hours and is investigated for domestic violence. He faced 180 to 240 hours of community service or one to six years in jail.
