A person was killed and ten people were hurt in an accident on the street DN 7 in Hunedoara County in the morning of October 1. A passenger minibus from Moldova collided with a utility vehicle, Mediafax reported on its website, quoted by IPN.
According to representatives of the Hunedoara Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the driver of the utility vehicle – a 20-year-old man of Hungarian origin – died. The ten injured persons from the minibus are from Moldova. The accident happened in Sacamas village. Firefighting vehicles, an extrication team, two SMURD ambulances and two special vehicles of the County Ambulance Service travelled to the scene.
“When on the spot, the firefighters established that the 20-year-old driver, who possibly died immediately after the accident, was trapped inside the utility vehicle. The SMURD rescuers provided assistance to ten persons from the minibus, who suffered multiple injuries. Of these, only one victim is in a serious state,” said the Hunedoara Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
All those hurt were taken by ambulances to the Acute Admissions Unit of the Deva Hospital. Due to the accident, traffic in the area had been blocked for about two hours.
