The form No.9, a document issued by authorities for temporary use to provide alternative proof of age and identity, mainly needed in elections, will be issued following easier procedures, Minister of Informational Development Vladimir Molojen says.
The Government approved at Wednesday’s sitting amendments to a decision dated 1995 concerning the introduction of provisional IDs. From now on, the form No.9 can be obtained from the register offices. Earlier the only body authorised to issue the document was the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Molojen told reporters that the issuing process has not been changed, and the form will be utilised as before – as a temporary document which would replace for one or two weeks the ID card, if it is lost or its issuance is delayed for some reasons.
The Minister could not tell how many ID substitutes of this kind have been issued to date. However, he mentioned that the form No.9 is issued, as a rule, to all the applicants, mostly before elections.
