Temperatures are expected to drop on January 7, when Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas as per the Julian calendar, to -19°C during the night and -10°C during the day, IPN learned from Natalia Canter, forecaster at the State Weather Service

The next night temperatures will drop further, to -21°Celsius. No significant precipitation is predicted, but roads will remain icy.

On Sunday, January 4, highs will range from -2°C to+1°C and lows from -3°C to -6°C. There will be scattered snowfall. On Monday, January 5, there will be no more snowfall and temperatures will drop to -1...-4°C during the day and to -5...-8°C during the night. On Christmas Eve, January 6, highs will be around -4...-7°C and lows around -9...-12°C.

On Friday, January 9, highs will be around -3...-6°C and lows around -14...-17°C.
