Weather forecasters said the temperatures next week will increase to +37°C in southern Moldova. Analyses show the weather during the first ten days of August was warmer than usual, IPN reports.
According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, daytime temperatures the next days will oscillate between +25°C... +30°C, while nighttime temperatures between +13°C... +18°C. But next week, they will rise to +34°C during the day, up to +37°C in the southern districts on August 18. Nighttime temperatures will vary between +21°C...+24°C.
At the beginning of August, the average air temperature was by 1-2°C higher than the normal values. The highest daytime temperature in the period was +37°C.
The precipitation during the first ten days of August oscillated between 7-15 mm (45-80% of the norm) and 50-115 mm (300-765% of the norm). The rain in the period was accompanied by hail and high winds of up to 23 m/s. The heavy rain caused damage to crops and facilities of the national economy in parts.
