Temperatures expected to drop to -5°C, sleet and high winds also forecast

After the warm weather of the last few days, with temperatures of +20°C, it will grow much colder as from April 3. Nighttime temperatures will fall to -5°C, while daytime temperatures will oscillate between +2 and +7°C. There will be high winds of 15-20 m/s, IPN reports.

Gennady Roșca, of the State Weather Service, said that cold masses of air coming from the Atlantic Ocean will be crossing Moldova’s territory in the period.

The forecast temperatures are not lower than the normal limits for the start of April. “Normally, we should have between 0 and +3°C at night and between +10 and +13°C during the day,” stated Gennady Roșca.

Rain is forecast for April 1. The first thunder and lightning this year could be seen tomorrow. It will also rain on April 2 and sleet is possible on April 3.

Temperatures will go up again as from April 7.

The warmest day of March 31 was in 1968, when +25.4°C were recorded in Tiraspol. The coldest day of March 31 was in 1908, when -7°C were registered also in Tiraspol.
