The Government approved the regulations concerning the organization and functioning of the free telephonic assistance service for victims of domestic violence and violence against women, IPN reports.

The regulations stipulate that the following services will be provided within this service: psychological assistance over the phone; identification of victims of domestic violence and violence against women; informing of the victims about their rights and offering of support in crisis situations.

The service is also intended for aggressors, as secondary beneficiaries, and for professionals from the field.

The calls made inside the country will be free, while those from abroad will be for money.

The personnel of the service will also provide assistance through email or social networking sites. These will include six councilors, a manager and auxiliary staff.

A sum of 775,400 lei was allocated from the 2017 state budget for ensuring the good functioning of the service.
