Adolescents from three regions of Moldova – Transnistria, Gagauzia and the central districts – met in an improvised town called “Lachiveli” where they made friends. The activity forms part of the One World Project, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on December 15, Tatiana Latvionva, the head of the Youth Organization “Integrity”, said the young people are very different. Those from the Transnistrian region are more active, even more aggressive and insistent. The young persons living on the right bank of the Nistru are very friendly and joyful, while those from southern Moldova are good observers as they are more attentive. When they meet, they know how to establish sustainable friendship relations. Communication is the most serious obstacle. As not all of them know Romanian, at the summer camps organized within the project and in different joint activities they speak Russian. One of the participants in the project, Alexandru Spiridonov from Rybnitsa said that this summer was unforgettable for him. “The young people from all the regions were friendly. When we could not find the words to understand each other, we used gestures,” he said. Fiodor Culiv, from Gagauzia’s Ceadar-Lunga, said he made many friends from the Transnistrian region and Moldova’s center. “At first, we were distant, but then we started to communicate and found common interests. It was nice, as if we were in a united country. We have common traditions, the same music, the same interests,” said Fiodor. Another participant from Chisinau, Victor Lupascu said the ethnicity and place of residence were a problem at the beginning, but then the participants started to get along together. “At first, we spoke Romanian, then Russian. I keep in touch with many persons with whom I got acquainted there,” said Victor. This year, the summer camp took place in Mascauti. It brought together 60 young people. Similar summer camps were organized in 2006 and 2009.
