A girl aged 8 and her brother of 14 from Puhoi village of Ialoveni district were rushed to the hospital with first-, second- and third-degree burns as a result of the explosion of a gas cylinder.  When at home alone, they decided to connect the gas cylinder to the kitchen stove. The blast happened when they turned the lights on, IPN reports.

According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the kitchen ceiling and the objects there were destroyed. There was no fire. The ambulance was called by a relative of the children, who was not far when the explosion occurred. The children were admitted to the National Children’s Hospital “Emilian Cotaga”.

The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service warns the parents not to allow the children to install and use gas cylinders without supervision. The incorrect connection of the cylinders can have serious consequences.
