An adolescent died and five persons suffered injuries in a serious traffic accident near Stauceni commune of Chisinau municipality in the evening of August 28. The vehicle by which these travelled overturned.
Contacted by IPN, head of the Chisinau Police Division’s press service Adrian Jovmir said the six persons travelled by a Hyundai car driven by a 33-year-old man. For yet unknown reasons, the vehicle skidded off the road and overturned. As a result, a teen aged 14 died on the spot, while five persons were rushed to the hospital with various injuries.
Petru Caravet, spokesman for the Chisinau Emergency Medicine Institute, has told IPN that the driver suffered a concussion and was admitted to the neurosurgery section. A man aged 38, who suffered minor wounds and a fracture, was given first aid and this refused to be hospitalized. A 21-year-old girl sustained polytrauma and was admitted to the intensive care section.
Two children aged 6 and 9 were taken to the Municipal Children’s Hospital “Valentin Ingnatenco” with concussions.
The police are yet to establish if the driver was speeding or was driving under the influence of alcohol.
